Where and How Is Profile & Messaging Data Handled for Cesium?

Does a traditional database handle profile data, or is that data saved onto the blockchain? If the former, who manages the server and are these features specific to Cesium?

These data are stored in the Cesium+ nodes (you can list them in Cesium settings). The data are – when it works – replicated across the nodes.

For example, if you host a node and connect it to the existing network, then people can access their profile and messages on your node.

The database is Elasticsearch, AFAIK.
